THE COURAGE QUIZ
What difference would it make to your life if you were living with more courage?
If you are wondering how courage relates to your life on a personal level please take a minute to answer the following questions. Those questions you respond to with a “Yes” (or can’t respond to with a firm “No”) may indicate where you could benefit from an extra dose of courage. Just remember, courage is not the absence of fear, self doubt or misgivings, but action in their presence.
- Is there something you've been procrastinating about because you are worried you won't be able to do it properly or perfectly!
- Is there an issue that causes you to feel resentful toward someone but you haven't spoken up about because the idea of doing so makes you feel uncomfortable?
- Do you currently have commitments you wish you'd said no to but just couldn't bring yourself to do so at the time?
- Is there any aspect of your life in which you continually feel taken for granted?
- Do you often find yourself feeling over-whelmed and stressed but you haven't asked for the help or support you would like?
- Is there something you'd really like to change about your life but it all just seems too hard?
- Do you often hold back expressing yourself openly and fully such that few people (whether work associates, friends or even family) really know you?
- Is there an issue that concerns you which you haven't addressed because you don't want to ruffle feathers, rock the boat or deal with confrontation?
- Do you sometimes wish you were doing something more meaningful with your life?
- Do you struggle to 'let go' and find yourself forever having to control things (including those circumstances or people which are outside your control)?
- Is there an aspect of your life in which you feel resigned or hopeless about which has you settling for a situation that isn't at all like you'd want it to be?
- Do you have a problem (situation or person) in your life that keeps resurfacing and all attempts to address it have failed?
- Do you often find yourself unable to fully enjoy the present moment simply because you are caught up worrying about what lies ahead of you?
- Do you sometimes feel like you are living your life on everyone else's terms and your wants and needs just never get to the top of anyone's priority list (including yours)?
- Do you find yourself getting stressed about the "small stuff" (which in the big scheme of life matters little) on a regular basis?
- Do you find yourself laying responsibility on other people or circumstances for things you don't like about your life (career, relationships, health, finances etc)?
- Do you often find yourself altering what you would really like to do or say because you want to impress others or just avoid the possibility of being disapproved of?
- Do you ever find yourself thinking "If I just had the guts I would. . . (quit this, speak up about that, start this, stop putting up with that etc. . .)?
- If you knew you could handle any challenge that came your way, is there something you would like to do that you currently aren't?
- Are there things about how you run your life (in your finances, relationships, business etc) that you don't feel proud of and/or would feel ashamed for others to know about?
- Do you find yourself saying yes to thinks and doing things primarily because you think you 'should' and not because you really want to?
- Do you often feel like you can't really be yourself around people?
- Is there someone you feel very angry and resentful toward whom you haven't forgiven?
- Do you ever either fail to ask for what you need or want or water down what you ask for because you are afraid the answer will be no?

How did you fare? Just imagine what a difference it would make to your life if you could find the courage to do whatever it took for you to respond to each of the questions above with a firm NO!
